Johnny Moss was a legendary American poker player, often regarded as one of the pioneers of the game. Born on May 14, 1907, in Marshall, Texas, he became famous for his skill and success in poker, particularly in the early years of the World Series of Poker (WSOP).
Moss won the inaugural WSOP Main Event in 1970, which was decided by a vote among players, and he went on to win the Main Event again in 1971 and 1974.
Known as “The Grand Old Man of Poker,” Moss was inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame in 1979. His contributions to the game and his competitive spirit have left a lasting legacy in the world of poker.
